Cheri Peebles/Donald Reeder – Owners
Grayton Beach Catering was founded by Cheri Peebles and her son Donald (Scooter) Reeder over a decade ago. The business began as a quaint coffee shop and local gathering spot in Grayton Beach. As time went on they began offering beach bonfires and shrimp boils. After that they began hosting live music as well as a space for local artists to show and sell their work.
The business kept growing and as lifelong locals, the two knew that they could bring their knowledge and passion for creating magic to a business that helped make couples wedding dreams come true! With Donald and his crew overseeing the culinary side of things and Cheri and her team handling the planning, marketing and day of wedding coordinating, they’ve grown Grayton Beach Catering from a small family business of providing coffee, hugs, bonfires and shrimp boils on the beach to one of the most sought-after Catering/Wedding companies on the Emerald Coast.
Cheri and Donald really know how to encompass all of the magic and beauty of the area into creating the perfect event for you, directly from their family to yours!
Blake Bohannon – Executive Chef
Blake has been cooking along the gulf coast since he was fourteen years old. Just before high school graduation he decided to make cooking his career and went on to study at the prestigious Johnson and Wales culinary school. That led him to an internship at longtime favorite 30A restaurant Criollas.
After a stint at Commanders Palace in New Orleans, Blake found himself back on 30A where he has been ever since. Over his career, he’s worked in some of the best kitchens and with some of the best chefs along the Emerald Coast including Lake Place, Fish out of Water and Borago.
We are thrilled to have Blake and his knowledge and talent on our team.
Melinda Burgess-
Hi! I’m Melinda! I grew up in Northeast Iowa and got my career started working in my mom’s flower shop at a very young age. When I turned 21 after graduating college with a degree in graphic design and fine art, I headed South as soon as possible!
I worked for a wedding florist in the area for six years as a lead designer and then switched to event planning for Grayton Beach Catering and Events.
I have been with the company for close to ten years and my job consists of anything Cheri asks me to do and more – LOL! The best part of the job is everyone is like family and we work as a close team. I love anything with sequins, glitter and pink, watching reality television, crafting, antique shopping, and anything that has to do with Mexican food!
